Frequently asked questions
Questions before
your repair?
What to know about booking, repair costs, warranty and looking after your data.
Booking & visits
Before you bring your phone in.
Do I need to book, or can I walk in?
Walk-ins are welcome. You can also book online before coming in. For a specialist repair, or to check parts availability, send us your model and the problem first.
Book NowHow do I book a repair online?
Use Book Now to open our online booking system. If you are unsure which repair you need, contact us with your phone model and symptoms before booking.
How long will my repair take?
Many screen, battery and charging repairs can be completed the same day, depending on parts availability and the work required. Motherboard repairs and data recovery may take longer. We explain the expected timeframe after assessment.
What should I bring with my phone?
Bring the phone and a clear description of the problem. Tell us about previous repairs, liquid contact or anything that happened before the fault started. If your files are the priority, let us know before any work begins.

Know what you are agreeing to.
Is diagnosis free at Wisma Cosway?
Standard diagnosis is free. If your device needs complex diagnostic work, we explain the proposed checks and quote the fee first. We only proceed with those checks after you approve the quote. Repair and any separately agreed materials are quoted separately before work begins.
Can I get an estimate before visiting?
Yes. Send us your phone model and describe the fault. We can advise on an estimate where possible; the final quote depends on inspection and the parts required. We explain the proposed work and get your approval before proceeding.
Will I be charged if the repair is not successful?
It depends on the agreed repair and any separately agreed materials. There is no blanket promise that every unsuccessful job is free. We explain applicable charges and risks before you approve the work. The donor-board and completed-motherboard situations below are important examples.
Is a donor board charged for if data recovery fails?
Yes. If data recovery requires a donor board supplied by MobiLab, we explain the risk and board cost before using it. Once you agree to its use, the donor-board charge is payable whether or not the recovery succeeds. This is the board charge, not a promise of successful recovery.
Why is the motherboard repair payable if I still cannot use the phone?
If the agreed motherboard fault has been repaired, that repair remains payable. A forgotten passcode or a separate screen, battery or other component fault does not make the completed motherboard repair unsuccessful. Some components cannot be fully tested while the phone does not power on.
What happens if you find another fault during repair?
We explain the additional fault and any extra work or cost before proceeding with it. On a phone that initially does not power on, some screen, battery or other component problems may only become apparent after the motherboard is working.
Does my repair include a warranty?
Yes. Warranty is included on every repair. We explain the coverage for your specific repair and parts. If a related issue appears after collection, contact us so we can assess it. Separate faults are not automatically part of the original repair.
Repairs & parts
Everyday fixes and more involved faults.
Which devices and repairs do you handle?
We repair iPhone, iPad and Android devices, including Samsung, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Realme and Huawei. Work includes screens, batteries, charging issues, back glass, cameras, motherboard faults and data recovery. Availability depends on the model and repair.
Can I choose between genuine and aftermarket parts?
Where options are available, we explain the parts offered, their differences, price and warranty before you choose. Send us your exact model so we can check the available options.
Can you repair a phone that will not charge or keeps restarting?
Yes, we assess both problems. Similar symptoms can have different causes, so we check the device before recommending a port, battery or motherboard repair. Tell us when the problem started and whether the phone has been repaired before.
Do you repair Samsung Z Fold and Z Flip faults?
Yes. We assess folding-phone problems such as switching off when folded, connectivity faults and an inner screen with no touch response. The fault may involve a flex cable, connector, screen or motherboard; inspection determines which repair is needed.
Does a folding-phone fault always need a whole new screen?
Not always. Depending on the fault, a ribbon, flex cable or connection repair may be an option. We assess the device before quoting rather than assuming that every folding-related problem needs a complete screen assembly.
Can you assess a phone another service centre could not repair?
Yes. We can assess whether motherboard or component-level repair is an option. Bring any previous diagnosis or repair history. A second assessment does not guarantee that the device can be repaired.
Data & motherboard repair
When the files matter as much as the phone.
Can you recover data from a dead or damaged phone?
We assess data recovery from phones that do not power on or have physical or liquid damage. What is possible depends on the original hardware, the fault and access to the device. Every device is assessed individually. Recovery is not guaranteed.
Should I ask for repair or data recovery?
Tell us what matters most: using the phone again, recovering its files, or both. A data-recovery job and a full device repair can have different scopes, costs and outcomes. We discuss that distinction before starting.
Will replacing the motherboard bring back my files?
Replacing a motherboard is not the same as recovering files from the original device. If your files are the priority, tell us before approving a motherboard replacement so we can assess the original hardware and explain the options.
What if I cannot remember my passcode?
Tell us before the work starts. Repairing the motherboard does not remove the phone’s passcode. A working phone may still require the correct passcode to access its files, and a completed motherboard repair remains payable even if you cannot unlock it.
Should I back up my phone before a repair?
Yes, if you can still access it. Keep a current backup before handing it in. If it will not power on or your files are not backed up, tell us before we begin so data preservation can be discussed as part of the job.
How is access to my data handled?
Tell us about any privacy concerns before handing over your phone. The access needed for functional testing can differ from a data-recovery job. We discuss the required access with you; do not send account passwords or private files in an initial enquiry.
